The Dell PowerEdge R730XD is a 2U rack server built around two Intel Xeon E5-2650 v3 processors, each with ten cores running at 2.3 GHz. Twelve-bay hot-plug chassis with redundant power

Six PCIe 3.0 slots plus a dedicated RAID card slot give room for additional network or accelerator cards, while the iDRAC8 module handles remote management independently of the operating system.

32 GB memory ceiling and 52 TB storage limit

The installed 32 GB of DDR4 fills a small fraction of the 24 DIMM slots, but the processor memory controller caps total capacity at 32 GB, so no further memory expansion is possible. The H330 controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60 across a maximum of 52 TB of raw drive capacity. Buyers who need more memory or larger memory modules cannot use this platform.
