The Dell PowerEdge R740xd is a 2U rack server configured with dual Intel Xeon Gold 6134 processors running at 3.2 GHz, each with eight cores. It ships with 128 GB of DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC memory across eight modules. Twenty-four 800 GB SATA SSDs fill every 2.5-inch bay, delivering high-capacity flash storage in a compact form factor.

Fits a standard rack and scales internally

The 2U chassis occupies minimal rack height while supporting up to two processors and 24 DIMM slots for a maximum of 3 TB of memory. A PERC H730P controller with 2 GB cache manages the SATA and SAS drives through RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 1100 W platinum power supplies and an Intel X520/I350 quad-port network card with two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ connections are pre-installed. iDRAC 9 Enterprise provides out-of-band remote management.
