The Dell PowerEdge R740xd2 packs twenty-six 3.5-inch drive bays into a 2U rack chassis, delivering high-capacity storage for backup repositories, media archives and software-defined storage clusters. Dual Xeon Gold 6154 processors provide thirty-six total cores at 3.0 GHz with 3.7 GHz turbo for compute-heavy data services.
H730P RAID and 10/25Gb Networking
The PERC H730P controller with 2 GB cache enables RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across the twenty-six installed 4 TB 7.2K SATA drives. A Broadcom 57414 dual-port 10/25Gb SFP28 OCP 2.0 mezzanine card adds high-speed fabric connectivity alongside the integrated dual-port 1GbE LOM.
Redundant Power and Remote Management
Two hot-swap 1100 W platinum power supplies supply N+1 redundancy for continuous operation. iDRAC 9 Enterprise provides full out-of-band monitoring, virtual console and firmware orchestration. The chassis ships without front bezel or ready rails, so rack integration uses existing mounting hardware.
