The DELL PowerEdge R760 is a 2U rack server built for enterprise workloads. It ships with dual Intel Xeon Gold 6416H processors, each offering 18 cores at 2.2 GHz with a 4.2 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 512 GB of DDR5-4800 ECC registered memory across 16 modules. A PERC H965i RAID controller with 8 GB NV cache manages storage.

Suits virtualization, AI and database clusters

This configuration fits teams running VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, AI training, SQL Server or software-defined storage. The 16-bay 2.5-inch chassis supports SAS, SATA, SSD and NVMe drives for mixed storage tiers. Buyers who need GPU acceleration, larger drive bays or a tower form factor should evaluate other platforms. Single-socket deployments or memory capacities beyond 8 TB are not supported by this model.

16 hot-swap 2.5-inch drive bays

The chassis provides sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap bays that accept SAS, SATA, SSD and NVMe media. Four 1.92 TB SATA SSDs are installed behind the PERC H965i controller, which supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Remaining bays allow capacity expansion without downtime. Storage density is fixed by the 2U 16-bay layout.
