The Dell PowerEdge R760 is a 2U rack server built for virtualization, databases and software-defined storage. It ships with two Intel Xeon Silver 4410Y processors, each running at 2.0GHz with a 3.9GHz turbo frequency and 12 cores. The system includes 1TB of DDR5-4800 ECC registered memory across 32 slots, leaving room to scale toward the 8TB maximum.

Upgrade Path from Smaller Rack Systems

This configuration replaces single-socket 1U servers or older 2U platforms that cannot accommodate sixteen 2.5-inch drive bays or dual-processor scaling.
