Confirm that any drives you plan to install are 2.5-inch SAS or SATA models; the backplane does not support other form factors. Ensure your operating system or hypervisor includes drivers for the PERC H330 storage controller and the integrated dual-port Gigabit Ethernet adapter. The system ships with twelve memory slots populated to 128 GB, leaving room for expansion to 384 GB.

Hot-Swap Bays and Remote Management

Sixteen tool-less drive trays allow you to add or replace storage without shutting down the server. Redundant power supplies can be swapped individually while the system remains online. The iDRAC 8 Express module provides out-of-band remote management over a dedicated network connection, enabling firmware updates, power cycling and console access from anywhere. PCIe slots remain available for additional RAID, networking or acceleration cards as workloads grow.
