The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U tower server designed for enterprise workloads including virtualization, database hosting and file storage. It ships with two Intel Xeon Silver 4214 processors, each delivering twelve cores at 2.2 GHz with a 3.2 GHz turbo frequency. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 ECC registered memory are installed across two modules, leaving fourteen slots free for expansion up to 1 TB. A PERC HBA330 controller manages the sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap drive bays.

Suited for Mixed Workloads.

This configuration suits organisations deploying VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V or Proxmox VE clusters, as well as Windows Server and Linux application hosts. The dual-processor layout and sixteen drive bays provide a balanced foundation for software-defined storage and backup targets. Buyers who require dedicated GPU acceleration, larger installed memory footprints or additional network bandwidth beyond dual Gigabit Ethernet should evaluate alternative platforms. The front bezel and ready rails are not included.

PERC HBA330 Controller

The installed Dell PERC HBA330 storage controller provides 12 Gb/s SAS and SATA connectivity to the drive backplane. It operates in HBA mode, presenting drives directly to the operating system without hardware RAID abstraction. This makes it a direct fit for software-defined storage stacks such as CEPH or ZFS that manage redundancy in software. Four Dell Enterprise 960 GB SATA SSDs are populated, leaving twelve bays available for additional SAS, SATA or SSD media.
