The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U rack-mount server equipped with two Intel Xeon Silver 4116 processors, each running at 2.1 GHz with 12 cores. It ships with 128 GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory installed across four 32 GB modules. This configuration targets organisations that need dense compute capacity for virtualization, database hosting or private-cloud workloads in a standard rack footprint.

PERC H730P RAID Controller Included

The bundled Dell PERC H730P storage controller provides 2 GB of cache backed by a battery and supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 as well as pass-through mode. Eight 2.5-inch drive trays are fitted, allowing immediate population of SAS, SATA or SSD media without sourcing additional caddies. Buyers who want more storage bays than the eight trays provided will need to add further trays separately.

LGA 3647 Socket Limits CPU Upgrades

Both processor sockets are already occupied by the Silver 4116 CPUs and the platform maximum is two processors, so no further CPU expansion is possible. Memory can still grow to 1 TB using the twelve remaining DDR4 slots. The system includes dual 750 W platinum power supplies and iDRAC 9 Express for remote management.
