Quick access for 2.5" and 3.5" SATA drives

This adapter connects standard 2.5 inch or 3.5 inch SATA hard drives and solid-state drives to a computer through a USB 3.0 port. It supports drives up to 12TB and works with Windows, Mac OS, PS4 and Xbox. The kit includes a 12V 2A power adapter required for 3.5 inch drives and a USB-A to USB-C adapter for newer ports.

USB 3.0 interface limited to 5Gbps with UASP boost

The USB 3.0 connection tops out at 5Gbps, and real-world throughput depends on the host controller and drive speed. UASP support can raise effective transfer rates by about 20 percent over conventional USB 3.0, but the link will never exceed the 5Gbps ceiling. A USB 2.0 port drops the limit to 480Mbps, which is far slower for large transfers.

Replaces drive enclosures

This cable removes the need to install a drive inside a case or enclosure, making it ideal for data recovery, backups and quick drive swaps. It is not suited for permanent desktop storage where a fixed internal mount or a dedicated docking station would be more robust, nor for users who need to connect optical drives.
