Without that switch function only a single drive is recognised. The 13G R730 requires BIOS 2.25 or later for PCIe allocation and booting from these drives is not guaranteed on servers. Buyers who need boot support on unsupported firmware or who lack PCIe splitting should not use this card.

Straightforward bracket swap with firmware caveats

The adapter ships with a full-height bracket and accepts 2242 2260 and 2280 M-key SSDs. Installation is a simple slot insertion but the system must run UEFI and the motherboard must expose the bifurcation option in BIOS. Missing bifurcation or an older BIOS are the common reasons drives go undetected. The included fan draws power from the slot and requires no extra cabling.
