Four U.2 NVMe drives on one x16 slot
This expansion card adds four U.2 NVMe SSDs through a single PCIe 4.0 or 3.0 x16 connection. It targets builders who need high-density enterprise storage on a workstation or server board. The card carries four SFF-8643 MiniSAS ports wired for SFF-8639 U.2 drives only.
Requires motherboard PCIe x16 bifurcation
The board splits the x16 link into four x4 lanes so each SSD runs at full speed. Without bifurcation support only one drive will be detected. The upgrade is worth it when the platform exposes bifurcation in firmware and the user wants 32 Gbps aggregate bandwidth across four drives.
Check bifurcation and cable clearance
Verify the motherboard manual confirms PCIe x16 bifurcation before ordering. The package includes full-height and low-profile brackets but does not supply SFF-8643 to SFF-8639 cables. Ensure the case has room for the chosen bracket and cable routing.
