2.5-inch SATA enclosure for SSD or HDD

This enclosure turns a 2.5-inch SATA solid-state drive or mechanical hard drive into a portable USB storage device. It accepts drives that are 7.0 mm or 9.5 mm thick and uses a Micro USB 3.0 connection to the host. The unit is aimed at users who want to reuse a laptop drive for backups or data transfer without installing it inside a computer.

UASP acceleration and sleep behaviour

When connected to a USB 3.0 port on Windows 8 or Windows 10, the enclosure can use UASP to raise SSD throughput by roughly 10 to 20 percent over the standard protocol. If the drive sits idle for three minutes it enters a low-power sleep state and wakes automatically when data access resumes. Safely removing the drive puts it to sleep immediately to reduce wear on mechanical disks.

ABS plastic shell with dual LED indicators

The black ABS plastic housing snaps together without tools and protects the drive during transport. A blue LED shows power status while a green LED flashes during data activity, giving a quick visual cue of drive health. The Micro USB 3.0 port is backward compatible with USB 2.0 hosts, though transfer rates will fall to the older standard's limit.
