This ESTONE PCIe add-in card adds seven USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports to a desktop system. Three ports use the USB Type-C connector and four use the traditional Type-A connector. The card fits any PCI Express x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot and supports PCIe 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 motherboards. It is intended for users who need more high-speed USB connections for external drives, peripherals or data-intensive workflows.
Upgrade from USB 3.0 or Fewer Ports
The card delivers up to 10 Gbps bandwidth per port, doubling the 5 Gbps ceiling of USB 3.0. The jump is worthwhile when you regularly move large media files, run backups to external SSDs or connect multiple high-throughput devices simultaneously. It does not add video output, Thunderbolt protocol or monitor support, so it cannot replace a docking station or graphics card for display purposes.
Practical Limits of the USB 3.2 Gen 2 Interface
