The ESTONE PCIE24ABK adds four USB 3.0 Type-A ports to a desktop computer through a single PCI Express x1 slot. It targets users who need more front-panel connections for peripherals such as keyboards, mice, external drives, webcams, printers, scanners, game controllers, VR headsets and digital cameras.

Driver CD and Smart Power Control

A driver CD is included for Windows XP, Vista, 7, Server 2008 and Linux systems that require manual installation. Windows 10, 11 and Mac OS 10.8.2 or later work without extra drivers. The card draws power directly from the PCIe slot and uses built-in voltage transformers, fuses and solid capacitors to deliver up to 5V/2A per port without an external power cable.

PCIe 2.0 x1 Bandwidth Limit

The adapter complies with the PCI Express 2.0 specification and fits x1, x4, x8 or x16 slots. Total throughput is shared across the four ports and capped at 5 Gbps by the PCIe 2.0 x1 link, so simultaneous high-speed transfers on multiple devices will not reach the nominal USB 3.0 rate for each port. Actual speed also depends on the connected device.
