The HP ProLiant DL380 G9 is a 2U rack server equipped with a single Intel Xeon E5-2670 v3 twelve-core processor at 2.3GHz and 96GB of DDR4 memory. It includes two 146GB 15K SAS drives managed by a Smart Array P440 controller with 4GB flash-backed write cache. The system ships without an operating system.

Fits standard racks and leaves room for growth

The chassis provides 24 small form factor drive bays with an option to add a rear cage for two more drives. Dual hot-swap 500W power supplies supply redundancy while the second CPU socket remains empty for a future processor upgrade. Twenty-four DIMM slots support registered ECC DDR4 modules up to 64GB each when a second processor is installed.

Sustained throughput from flash-backed cache

The P440 controller’s 4GB FBWC preserves write data during power loss and keeps RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 performance consistent under continuous workloads. Dual redundant power supplies maintain operation if one unit fails. The Matrox G200eH2 graphics controller handles basic console output without drawing compute resources.
