The integrated Smart Array P440 controller with 4GB flash-backed write cache connects to the backplane at 12Gb/s SAS, freeing PCIe slots for additional networking or acceleration cards. The server supports a second processor kit to unlock the remaining 12 DIMM slots and additional PCIe lanes.

24 Drive Bays and 3TB Memory Ceiling

The 24 SFF bays accommodate large SAS or SSD arrays under RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 or 60, scaling raw capacity to dozens of terabytes. Memory can grow to 3TB across 24 slots when the second CPU is installed, though the single-processor configuration limits active channels to 12 slots.
