Dual Xeon E5-2643 v3 server

The HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 is a 2U rackmount server built around two six-core Intel Xeon E5-2643 v3 processors running at 3.4 GHz. It targets organisations that need dense compute capacity for virtualisation, database or high-performance workloads in a standard rack footprint. The system ships with 8 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory across 24 DIMM slots, ready for expansion up to the platform limit.

Redundant power and 8-bay storage

Dual hot-swap 500 W power supplies provide redundancy for continuous operation in data-centre environments. The front panel holds eight 2.5-inch SFF drive bays with trays and screws included, supporting SAS at 12 Gb/s and SATA at 6 Gb/s through the Smart HBA H240ar controller. RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 are available for data protection or performance tuning. Optional bay kits can extend capacity to 16 or 24 SFF bays or add NVME support.

H240ar controller and remote management

The embedded Smart HBA H240ar handles RAID without consuming a PCIe slot, leaving expansion room for additional I/O cards. Integrated Matrox G200eH2 graphics with 16 MB video memory drives basic console output. HP iLO remote management is standard on the platform, enabling out-of-band monitoring, firmware updates and virtual media without a local keyboard, monitor or mouse. No operating system is included.
