Capacity and interface

The HPE S2E44A is a 11.50 TB internal solid-state drive built for read-intensive enterprise workloads. It uses a 2.5-inch form factor and connects through a SAS interface operating at 12Gb/s. The drive is validated for HPE MSA SAN storage arrays.

Thermals and power in normal use

Enterprise SSDs of this class are designed to operate within standard server thermal envelopes without additional cooling. The SAS 12Gb/s interface supports efficient command queuing that helps limit controller overhead during typical read-heavy operations. Power draw scales with queue depth and remains consistent with the read-intensive endurance rating.

Behaviour under sustained load

The read-intensive endurance rating indicates the drive is optimised for workloads dominated by read activity rather than heavy write cycles. Under sustained load the SAS interface maintains stable throughput across multiple concurrent I/O streams. Workloads requiring high write endurance or mixed random write performance are not the target use case for this model.
