NAS chassis with hot-swap density

The JONSBO N3 is a Mini-ITX case built around eight 3.5-inch hot-swap bays and one 2.5-inch bay, giving home-office and small-business users a compact platform for network-attached storage. Its aluminium-and-steel construction separates the drive compartment from the motherboard tray, so drives can be swapped without disturbing the system board. Two 100 mm fans come pre-installed in the drive zone for direct airflow across the disks.

Interface and expansion limits

The front panel provides one USB 3.0 port and one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C connector plus a combined audio jack, setting the practical ceiling for external peripheral speed. Inside, only two expansion slots are available, so a single add-in card such as an HBA or 10 GbE adapter fits, but multi-card configurations are not possible. The SFX power supply must not exceed 105 mm in length, restricting choice to short-form units.

Clearance that decides the build

Maximum CPU cooler height is fixed at 130 mm, which admits low-profile tower coolers but excludes most full-height models. Graphics cards up to 250 mm long can be installed, yet the two-slot limit and SFX power constraint mean only modest GPUs are realistic. If the intended cooler or graphics card exceeds these dimensions, the chassis cannot accommodate the build.
