16-Channel 12-bit PWM Servo Driver HAT (B)
This PCA9685 development board adds sixteen independent PWM outputs to a Raspberry Pi or Jetson Nano. Each channel delivers 12-bit resolution for precise servo positioning. The board targets makers building robots, pan-tilt rigs or multi-servo automation projects.
Check your host board and power source
Verify that your Raspberry Pi model provides a standard 40-pin GPIO header; earlier 26-pin models will not mate with this HAT. The on-board 5 V regulator supplies up to 3 A from the VIN terminal, so confirm your battery or supply can meet the peak draw of every connected servo.
Integration into a build
The driver communicates over I2C using only two GPIO pins, leaving the remaining header free for sensors or displays. Reserved I2C pins allow chaining additional control boards without extra host ports. Standard three-pin headers accept common servos such as SG90, MG90S and MG996R directly. Python examples for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi remote control are included to accelerate development.
