Tyan-qualified 2 TB DDR4 kit

This 16-module kit delivers 2 TB of DDR4 3200 registered ECC memory in 128 GB RDIMMs. It is built for the Tyan Transport CX GC68-B8036-LE server platform where maximum capacity and error correction are required. Each module runs at 1.2 V with CL22 latency and a 4Rx4 organisation.

Upgrade from smaller RDIMM sets

Replacing a partial population of lower-capacity RDIMMs with this full 16 x 128 GB kit fills every slot and raises total system memory to 2 TB. The jump is worth it when workloads such as large-scale virtualisation, in-memory databases or scientific computing exceed the capacity of a half-populated configuration.

DDR4 registered ECC limits

The DDR4 3200 registered ECC standard caps per-module density at 128 GB with current 4Rx4 DRAM, so 2 TB is the practical ceiling for a 16-slot board. Registered buffering adds one clock cycle of latency versus unbuffered modules, and the 1.2 V operating voltage is fixed by the DDR4 specification.
