Six SATA 3.0 Ports

This expansion card adds six independent SATA 3.0 ports through a single PCIe x1 slot. It targets desktop and server builders who need more internal drive connections for SSDs or HDDs. PCIe x1 Bandwidth Limit

The card uses a standard PCIe x1 interface that fits x1, x4, x8 or x16 motherboard slots. All six ports share the single lane's throughput so simultaneous heavy traffic on multiple drives will saturate the link. Each port is rated for 6Gbps but the aggregate speed cannot exceed the host slot capacity. Builders needing full 6Gbps on every port concurrently should verify their platform can accept a wider card.

Sixteen Lanes Not Required

The adapter operates with just one PCIe lane and does not need a x16 slot. This makes it suitable for compact boards or servers where full-length slots are occupied. If your chassis or motherboard lacks a free x1 connector the card cannot be fitted. Buyers who want more storage ports than six must add a second controller.
