The Synology DiskStation DS3622xs+ is a 12-bay rackmount NAS designed for small and medium business environments. It handles intensive multi-user workloads such as iSCSI target backup, file storage, email servers and domain controllers. The system ships in a sealed box with hard drives and memory upgrades included separately for on-site installation. It runs the Synology DSM operating system.

Xeon D-1531 sustains heavy concurrent tasks

A Xeon D-1531 6-core processor running at 2.2 GHz with a 2.7 GHz turbo frequency powers sustained performance under load. The 48 GB DDR4 ECC SODIMM memory supports virtual machines, containers and large surveillance deployments without throttling. Btrfs file system enables advanced LUN iSCSI service for consistent throughput during extended operations. Link aggregation and failover on the 10GbE ports maintain bandwidth when multiple users access data simultaneously.

Single supply with expansion headroom

The unit operates from a single power supply while driving twelve 3.5-inch SATA hard drives totalling 24 TB. Two USB 3.2 ports and two expansion ports provide I/O flexibility without adding external chassis. Network connectivity uses two 1GbE and two 10GbE RJ-45 ports for balanced throughput and redundancy.
