The Synology RS826+ is a 1U rackmount network-attached storage server built for edge locations, remote offices and growing business environments. It ships fully assembled and tested with four 16 TB Synology Plus drives providing 64 TB of raw capacity, 8 GB of DDR4 ECC memory and an 800 GB enterprise cache. A 2.2 GHz AMD Ryzen V1500B four-core, eight-thread processor handles file services and application workloads.

Connectivity and Expansion

Four integrated 1 GbE RJ-45 ports support Link Aggregation for load balancing and automatic failover. Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports allow direct attachment of external storage or backup targets. A PCIe Gen3 slot accepts compatible 10 GbE or 25 GbE adapters when higher network throughput is required. The four drive bays accept 3.5-inch SATA hard drives or 2.5-inch SATA SSDs for flexible media choices.

Performance and Environmental Limits

Sequential read performance reaches 2,000 MB/s and sequential write reaches 1,300 MB/s under vendor test conditions. Memory can be expanded to 32 GB for larger workloads. The unit operates from 0 °C to 35 °C at 5 % to 95 % relative humidity and draws power from a 100-240 VAC 50/60 Hz supply. Buyers needing more than four drive bays or native 10 GbE ports without an add-in card should consider other form factors.
