The Synology RS826RP+ is a 1U rackmount network-attached storage system built for edge deployments, branch offices, and remote business workloads. It arrives fully assembled and tested with four 6TB Synology Plus NAS drives installed for 24TB of raw capacity and 32GB of DDR4 memory. A quad-core AMD Ryzen V1500B processor running at 2.2 GHz powers the unit.

Redundant Power and Hot-Swap Bays with Expansion

Dual redundant power supplies protect uptime while four hot-swappable bays accept 3.5-inch SATA hard drives and 2.5-inch SATA SSDs. Four integrated 1GbE RJ-45 ports support Link Aggregation for bandwidth pooling and automatic failover. A PCIe Gen3 slot allows adding 10GbE or 25GbE adapters, an M.2 SSD adapter, or a combined M.2 and 10GbE card. One Synology RX426 expansion unit can be attached to double bay count.

Scales from Four to Eight Bays for Growing Storage

The base four-bay configuration suits teams needing immediate capacity with room to grow. Connecting the RX426 expansion unit increases the system to eight bays and supports up to 192TB of raw storage using compatible 24TB drives. SSD caching can be added via the PCIe slot to accelerate HDD arrays. Organisations requiring more than eight bays or native 10GbE without an add-in card should evaluate larger chassis.
