The Hawaii PRO GL GPU runs at 824 MHz and provides 4.22 TFLOPS single precision and 2.11 TFLOPS double precision performance. It connects through a PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot.

Upgrade from earlier S-series or consumer cards

The jump is justified when workloads exceed the memory capacity or double precision throughput of older FirePro S models or consumer GPUs. The 12GB frame buffer and 2.11 TFLOPS double precision enable larger datasets and higher accuracy in structural mechanics or reservoir simulation. Support for DirectX 12 and OpenGL 4.5 ensures compatibility with current professional software stacks.

Fanless dual-slot install with strict airflow needs

The card occupies two full-height slots and measures 267 mm in length, requiring a PCI Express x16 slot and one 6-pin plus one 8-pin auxiliary power connector. A minimum of 15 CFM airflow at a 45° C inlet temperature is mandatory because the cooler is fanless. Insufficient case airflow is the most common cause of thermal throttling or shutdown. The system also needs 16GB of system memory and a supported server OS such as Windows Server 2012 R2 or Linux.
