Dell PowerEdge R710 ECC Kit
This 8 GB kit contains two 4 GB registered ECC DIMMs built for the Dell PowerEdge R710 server. Each module runs at DDR3-1333 with a CL9 timing and 1.5 V operation. The registered design adds signal buffering for stable multi-module configurations. It targets administrators expanding memory in compatible Dell rack servers.
8 GB Registered Capacity
The paired modules provide 8 GB of ECC protected memory for workloads that demand error correction. Registered signalling supports larger populations than unbuffered alternatives, yet the system caps registered DIMM populations at eighteen sockets across six banks. Quad-rank modules in the second bank drop to 800 MHz, and a third bank is disabled when quad-rank DIMMs are installed.
DDR3-1333 Interface Limits
The DDR3 interface operates at 1333 MHz but automatically clocks down to 1066 MHz or 800 MHz depending on the installed Xeon model and bank population. Mixing registered and unbuffered ECC modules is not supported. Maximum registered ECC capacity reaches 288 GB with dual CPUs, while unbuffered ECC tops out at 192 GB.
