3.5-to-5.25 Bay Adapter
This plastic bracket converts a standard 5.25-inch optical drive bay so it can accept a 3.5-inch floppy drive or similarly sized front-panel device. It is intended for builders who need to relocate a legacy drive or add a card reader, USB hub or fan controller where a full-height bay sits empty.
Capacity and headroom
The adapter holds one 3.5-inch unit securely behind an open-faced black bezel, using the eight screws supplied. It cannot accommodate a 5.25-inch drive, nor does it provide mounting points for 2.5-inch units without a separate caddy.
5.25-inch bay constraint
Installation is limited to cases that still include a 5.25-inch internal bay, a form factor omitted from many modern chassis. The bracket adds no electrical connections, so the mounted device must reach the motherboard or controller with its own cables.
