The Orico M.2 SATA NGFF enclosure turns a single M.2 SATA SSD into a USB-C portable drive. It accepts B-Key or B+M Key modules in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 lengths. The aluminium shell and included thermal pad help keep the drive cool during transfers. It is aimed at users who need quick external access to SATA-based M.2 storage.

Check your drive and host port

Verify that your M.2 SSD uses the SATA protocol with a B-Key or B+M Key notch; NVMe M-Key drives will not work in this enclosure. Your computer, phone, tablet or console must provide a USB-C port that supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 or at least USB 3.1 Gen 1 for full 6 Gbps performance. The bundled dual-headed cable offers both USB-C to USB-A and USB-C to USB-C connections.

Build and daily use

The grey aluminium body acts as a heatsink, while a silicone thermal pad contacts the SSD to spread heat across the striped exterior. Tool-free assembly lets you slide the drive in and secure it without screws.
