The SMUGDESK PH42 fits one NVMe MKey drive and one NGFF SATA drive into a single PCIe slot. Replaces two singleport risers

Instead of using separate adapters for NVMe and SATA M.2 drives, this board hosts both key types simultaneously. The upgrade is worthwhile when a system has limited PCIe lanes or physical slots but needs mixedprotocol storage for boot, cache and bulk data. Limited by PCIe lane allocation

The NVMe port runs at up to 32Gbps while the SATA port tops out at 6Gbps, but total throughput depends on how many lanes the motherboard assigns to the slot. An X4 slot can saturate the NVMe link yet leaves no bandwidth for additional highspeed peripherals. The SATA interface adds negligible load but cannot exceed its native ceiling regardless of slot width. Users must verify that their platform provides sufficient lanes for the intended workload.
