High-capacity E3.S drive for read-intensive servers

The Solidigm D5-P5430 delivers 15.36TB in a 7.5mm E3.S module built for dense server chassis. It uses 192L QLC 3D NAND and a PCI-Express 4.0 x4 interface to serve capacity-first workloads such as content repositories, warm data tiers and logging archives. The single-pack drive is designed for internal data-centre deployment where space and power budgets are tight.

Sustained behaviour under continuous read load

A 2,000,000-hour MTBF rating reflects the firmware and NAND tuning chosen for steady-state endurance rather than burst speed. The controller maintains consistent throughput during long sequential scans while operating between 0°C and 70°C. Vibration tolerance is rated at 2.17 GRMS across 5 to 700 Hz during operation and 3.13 GRMS across 5 to 800 Hz when powered off, and the drive withstands 1,000 G shock at 0.5 msec.

QLC endurance profile decides fit

The 192-layer QLC architecture prioritises capacity per die over write cycles, so the drive suits workloads that write infrequently and read heavily. Buyers who need higher write endurance or mixed-use durability should evaluate alternative media. The PCIe 4.0 x4 link and E3.S 7.5mm form factor are fixed; systems requiring a different connector or height cannot use this module.
