Dual Xeon 1U server for dense compute

The Supermicro SYS-6018U-TR4T+ is a 1U rackmount server fitted with two Intel Xeon E5-2650 v4 processors, each running at 2.2 GHz with 12 cores. It ships with 32 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz registered ECC memory across four modules. The platform targets virtualization, HPC and cloud workloads that need high core counts in minimal rack space.

Redundant power and quad 10GBase-T

Two 750 W Platinum hot-swap power supplies provide redundancy without shutting down. The MegaRAID 9361-8i controller manages up to eight SAS or SATA drives with 1 GB cache and battery backup, supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Four front 3.5-inch hot-plug bays accept SATA or SAS media. A dedicated RJ45 IPMI 2.0 port enables KVM-over-LAN and virtual media, while the Intel X540 add-in card delivers four 10GBase-T RJ45 ports for high-speed networking.

Upgrades from single-socket or 1GbE systems

The dual-socket design doubles thread capacity compared with single-processor 1U units, making the jump worthwhile when licensing or memory bandwidth scales with cores. Quad 10GBase-T replaces single or dual 1 GbE links for storage replication and VM migration. Buyers who need more than four 3.5-inch bays or front bezel and rails included should look elsewhere.
