The Supermicro SYS-8048B-TRFT is a 4U rackmount system built for compute-intensive and storage-heavy applications. It ships with four Intel Xeon E7-4890 v2 processors running at 2.8 GHz with 15 cores each. The platform includes 2 TB of DDR3 1600 MHz registered ECC memory across 64 DIMM slots. 24 hot-swap 3.5-inch drive bays define storage

The chassis provides 24 front-accessible bays that accept SATA or SAS hard drives for massive raw capacity. A MegaRAID 9361-8i controller with 1 GB cache and battery backup supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. No drives are included, so buyers must supply their own disks. Tool-less trays simplify drive installation

Drive trays slide into the front bays without screws, and the four 1620 W platinum power supplies are hot-swap redundant. IPMI 2.0 with a dedicated RJ45 port gives KVM-over-LAN and virtual media access for remote management. The front bezel and rack rails are not included, so they must be sourced separately. The 1U height listed in the spec sheet conflicts with the 4U form factor, so verify rack space before ordering.
