This 2.5 inch internal hard drive delivers 1.2 TB of storage on a SAS 12 Gb/s interface spinning at 10000 RPM with a 128 MB buffer. It is built for Dell PowerEdge Gen14 servers and ships new from the manufacturer.
Suited for Gen14 PowerEdge bays.
The drive fits validated Gen14 PowerEdge models such as R340, R440, R540, R640, R740, R840, R940, R740XD, R940xa, R6415, R7415, R7425 and C6420. Systems without a SAS 12 Gb/s backplane or 2.5 inch drive bays cannot accept this unit.

The single specification that determines fit is the 2.5 inch SAS 12 Gb/s interface. Only controllers and backplanes that support this exact signalling standard can use the drive.
