The Latitude 5424 is a 14.0-inch semi-rugged laptop built to military-grade standards for harsh environments. It runs an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor with 8 MB cache and speeds up to 4.20 GHz. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 memory and a 128 GB SSD provide the baseline configuration. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed.

Touchscreen and port mix change daily use

The 1920 x 1080 FHD panel supports 10-point touch input that works with gloves on. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the display and external monitors through HDMI and DisplayPort. Connectivity includes USB 3.0 ports, USB Type-C, a serial port and RJ-45 Ethernet. A DVD drive and Dell OEM charger are also in the box.

Specialised materials and a toughened direct-view screen enable outdoor visibility in direct sunlight. The design has passed rugged test-to-failure methodology and high-cycle performance testing.
