Dual-Socket 1U Server for Dense Compute

The Dell PowerEdge R640 is a 1U rackmount server built for scale-out data centre workloads. It ships with two Intel Xeon Gold 6130 processors, each running at 2.1 GHz with 16 cores. The system includes 128 GB of DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC memory across eight modules. This configuration targets environments that need high core counts in minimal rack space.

PERC H730P Controller with Eight 2.4 TB SAS Drives

Storage is handled by a Dell PERC H730P 2 GB controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through. Eight 2.5-inch 2.4 TB 10K SAS hard drives are installed in the front bays. The controller provides 12 Gb/s SAS connectivity and includes a battery-backed cache. This array delivers the capacity and redundancy profile for database or virtualisation clusters.

Redundant Power and Remote Management Included

Two hot-swap 750 W platinum power supplies provide redundancy in a 1U form factor. Network connectivity comes via an Intel X520/I350 daughter card with two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports. iDRAC 9 Enterprise enables full out-of-band management. Rails and a front bezel are supplied for immediate rack installation.
