The Dell PowerEdge R640 is a 1U rack-mount server built for scale-out deployments. It arrives with a single Intel Xeon Silver 4210 processor running at 2.2 GHz with ten cores. Sixty-four gigabytes of DDR4 ECC registered memory are installed, and the chassis supports up to four 3.5-inch drive bays. The PERC H740P RAID controller manages SATA storage.

The Xeon Silver 4210 delivers steady multi-threaded throughput for virtualisation, database and high-performance computing tasks. With one processor installed, the system retains a second socket for future expansion up to two CPUs. Memory capacity can grow to 7.68 TB across twenty-four DIMM slots, allowing memory-intensive workloads to scale without replacing the platform. The 10 GbE 562T dual-port adapter keeps network bandwidth consistent under load.

Efficient Cooling and Redundant Power

Dual 750 W power supplies provide N+1 redundancy while maintaining stable delivery during continuous operation.
