This new Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server fitted with two Intel Xeon E5-2620 v3 processors running at 2.4 GHz with 3.2 GHz turbo. Sixteen registered ECC DDR4 modules provide 512 GB of memory at 2133 MHz across 24 slots. A PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache manages two 800 GB SATA SSDs. Dual 750 W platinum power supplies and an X520/I350 quad-port network card with two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports are included. iDRAC8 Enterprise and rails complete the package.

Virtualisation and Database Hosts

The twin 6-core CPUs and 512 GB DDR4 suit virtualisation clusters, database servers and VDI deployments that benefit from large memory capacity and hardware RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60.
