The Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server built around a single Intel Xeon E5-2609v3 six-core processor running at 1.9GHz. It ships with 16GB of DDR4 memory and two 2TB 7.2K SAS drives managed by a PERC H330 RAID controller. The chassis supports up to eight 3.5-inch hot-plug bays and includes dual 750W redundant power supplies for continuous operation.

Fits standard racks with room for expansion

The server occupies 2U of rack space and provides 24 DDR4 DIMM slots, twelve per processor socket, allowing memory growth up to the platform maximum. Seven PCIe 3.0 slots plus a dedicated PERC slot give flexibility for additional network or storage cards. Hot-plug drive bays and redundant power supplies let administrators swap components without downtime.

Sustained load handled by redundant power

Dual 750W power supplies share the load so that a single unit failure does not interrupt service.
