Build Overview

The Fractal Design Epoch XL is a black steel ATX mid-tower case designed for high-airflow builds. It fits ATX, mATX and Mini-ITX motherboards and includes three pre-installed 140 mm Momentum 14 RGB fans at the front. A tinted tempered glass side panel and ARGB lighting complete the look for enthusiasts who want a clean, contemporary chassis.

Sustained Cooling

Natural airflow moves through the ventilated front and top mesh panels to support long sessions. The front and top each accept radiators up to 360 mm, while the rear takes a 120 mm unit, so liquid-cooling loops stay effective under continuous load. Seven 120 mm or five 140 mm total mounts, plus top support for two 180 mm fans, give ample headroom for sustained thermal performance.

Installation Experience

Cable grommets and straps simplify routing behind the motherboard tray. The case supports Reverse Connector motherboards for cleaner rear I/O cabling. Two 3.5-inch and two 2.5-inch drive bays provide storage flexibility. Maximum GPU length is 425 mm with the front fans in place, and CPU cooler height is limited to 176 mm. Power supply length depends on drive-tray configuration: 290 mm with one HDD tray, 175 mm with two.
