The HP ProLiant DL160 Gen9 packs two six-core Xeon E5-2603 v3 processors at 1.6GHz and 64GB of DDR4 ECC memory into a single rack unit. It ships with two 500GB 7.2K SATA drives on the B140i software RAID controller supporting levels 0, 1 and 5. The platform targets mixed cloud and general-purpose deployments that need density without sacrificing expansion headroom.

Sustained load behaviour

Under continuous demand the dual-socket design distributes threads across 12 total cores while the 16 DIMM slots run registered DDR4 up to 2400MT/s with error correction. The 550W redundant hot-swap power supply maintains delivery during prolonged compute or storage tasks. Memory speed scales with the installed processor capability, keeping latency predictable during extended runs.

Eight-bay SFF chassis

The 1U rack frame holds eight 2.5-inch SFF drive bays, with two populated by the supplied SATA drives and six free for future growth. A universal media bay or two extra SFF bays can replace the optical slot if needed. Video output is handled by an integrated Matrox G200 controller, and the hot-swap power modules allow maintenance without downtime.
