The HP ProLiant DL160 Gen9 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2630 v3 eight-core processor at 2.4 GHz with 8 GB of DDR4 ECC memory. Eight 2.5-inch drive bays connect to an H240 controller supporting RAID 0, 1 and 5. Redundant hot-swap power supplies keep the platform running during maintenance.

Upgrade from single-socket towers or older G8 racks

Adding a second Xeon E5-2600 v3 or v4 CPU doubles cores to a maximum of 36 and unlocks the remaining eight DIMM slots. The jump is worth it when thread count and memory capacity become bottlenecks for virtualisation or database tasks.
