Blade server for dense compute

The HPE BL460c G10 is a half-height blade designed for scale-out workloads in a c-class enclosure. Two Xeon Silver 4112 processors deliver eight cores at 2.6 GHz, while 48 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory supports virtualisation and database tiers. Dual 1.8 TB SAS drives attach to the Smart Array P204i-b SR Gen10 controller for local storage. The platform targets IT teams that need consistent density without oversubscribing the chassis.

Steady throughput under load

The dual-socket layout keeps both CPUs active during extended batch runs, with the integrated FlexFabric 20 Gb 2-port 650FLB adapter maintaining network flow. Smart Array caching absorbs write bursts so sustained I/O remains predictable across the 1.8 TB volumes. Memory capacity can grow to 128 GB if future workloads demand larger working sets. Thermal design in the enclosure balances airflow so performance does not throttle during multi-hour jobs.

Chassis integration and daily ops

Half-height 2.5-inch drive bays limit internal expansion to two devices, so capacity planning must account for that constraint. The iLO Advanced remote-management module provides out-of-band console access, firmware updates and health monitoring without a local KVM. Firmware arrives at the latest stable version and each unit passes a full burn-in before deployment. Rail kits are available on request for rack mounting outside the standard enclosure.
