AES-XTS 256-bit hardware encryption operates in real time with no software installation required. The drive locks automatically when unplugged or after a configurable timeout.

Keypad authentication

The integrated keypad means decryption happens on the device itself, so no password utility runs on the host computer and no trace remains in system memory. A rechargeable battery powers the keypad while the drive is disconnected.
