This evaluation board mates directly with the standard Pi Pico header and adds a 3.5 inch resistive touch screen that shows 65K colours. On-board resources include a buzzer, photoresistor, RGB LED, a 3.5 mm audio jack and a micro SD card slot. It suits makers and students who want a ready-made platform for experimenting with the RP2040 microcontroller without wiring separate modules.

Resistive touch and SDIO limits

The display uses resistive technology so it responds to pressure rather than capacitive touch and does not support multi-touch gestures. Colour depth is fixed at 65K colours. The micro SD card slot connects through the SDIO interface which is faster than SPI but still limited by the RP2040 peripheral bandwidth and the card's own speed class. Audio output is a simple line-level jack with no on-board amplifier.

Check your Pico and power needs

Verify you have a Raspberry Pi Pico series board with the standard 40-pin header because the board plugs straight onto it. The integrated battery header and recharge circuit let the unit run untethered but require a compatible Li-ion cell that you must source separately. Ensure your project can work within the screen size, resistive touch behaviour and the peripheral set provided.
