Precision 3460 SFF memory kit

This 32 GB kit contains two 16 GB DDR5 4800 ECC SODIMM modules built for the Dell Precision 3460 Small Form Factor workstation. Each stick runs at 1.1 V with CL40 latency and uses a 1Rx8 unbuffered layout on a 262-pin PCB. The modules are assembled with major OEM DRAM from Samsung, Micron or Hynix.

Upgrade from non-ECC or lower capacity

The kit replaces standard non-ECC memory or smaller capacity SODIMMs when data integrity and 32 GB total capacity are required for professional workloads. ECC protection detects and corrects single-bit errors that can corrupt calculations in engineering, scientific or financial applications. The jump is worth it when the workload cannot tolerate silent data corruption or when the system needs the maximum supported memory for the platform.

Sustained load behaviour

Under continuous load the modules operate at the rated 4800 MT/s speed without a heat spreader, relying on the chassis airflow of the Precision 3460 SFF. The 1.1 V DDR5 voltage helps limit thermal output during extended compute sessions. ECC scrubbing runs in the background to maintain data integrity over long periods without interrupting throughput.
