8 GB DDR4 SODIMM for Supermicro servers

This 8 GB DDR4 2666 SODIMM is built for Supermicro server and workstation platforms that accept unbuffered non-ECC memory. It targets administrators and integrators who need a straightforward capacity increase in compatible 260-pin slots. The module uses major OEM DRAM from Samsung, Micron or Hynix and runs at the standard 1.20 V. It is not suited for systems that require registered or ECC DIMMs.

Capacity and headroom

A single 8 GB rank (1Rx8) at DDR4 2666 (PC4-21300) CL19 adds usable memory for typical multi-tasking, virtualisation hosts and database workloads that fit within this footprint. Headroom ends when the working set exceeds the installed capacity or when the platform demands ECC or registered modules. The non-ECC unbuffered design limits use to boards that explicitly support this configuration.

Thermals noise and power

Without a heat spreader the module relies on chassis airflow, drawing 1.20 V at the rated speed. Power consumption stays low for DDR4 SODIMM form factors and produces no audible noise. Thermal headroom is adequate for normal server environments with proper case ventilation; sustained heavy loads in restricted airflow may require additional cooling attention.
