This OWC kit supplies 1TB of DDR4 memory through eight 128GB registered DIMMs. It is built for the Dell PowerEdge C4140 with SkyLake CPUs and will not work in standard desktop computers or with unbuffered or load-reduced modules.

DDR4 2933 speed ceiling

The modules run at DDR4 2933 (PC4-23400) with CL21 latency and 1.2V voltage. The platform also accepts slower DDR4 speeds of 2133, 2400 and 2666 MHz, but cannot exceed the 2933 MT/s data rate.

8Rx4 rank configuration

Each DIMM uses an 8Rx4 organisation, which the C4140 memory controller must support. If your system requires a different rank structure or a lower maximum capacity per slot, this kit will not be compatible.
