This OWC kit supplies 64GB of DDR3L ECC registered memory across four 16GB modules. It targets workstations, servers, NAS appliances and routers that require 240-pin registered DIMMs with error correction. The modules run at 1.35V and carry a CL11 latency rating at 1600 MT/s. Standard desktop boards cannot use this memory.

DDR3L 1600 registered limits

The DDR3L 1600 standard tops out at 1600 MT/s with a 1.35V operating voltage, so bandwidth and latency are fixed by the JEDEC specification. Registered buffering adds one clock cycle of command delay, which is mandatory for platform stability but reduces raw throughput versus unbuffered equivalents.
