It connects through a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface and carries no Opal encryption, making it suited for internal storage arrays where hardware encryption is handled elsewhere.
Fits 2.5-inch U.2 bays with PCIe 4.0 backplanes
The 15mm Z-height requires a drive bay or caddy that accepts 15mm U.2 modules and a backplane wired for PCIe 4.0 x4 signalling. Using this form factor frees standard M.2 slots for other devices and keeps the drive in a hot-swap tray for service without shutting down the chassis.
Passive cooling in directed airflow
